  1. 1 · We put up the source

A real article or episode about a real race, with why it is here and what it can't tell you.

  2. 2 · You clip the moment

Highlight the passage, or drag a clip out of the audio. Anyone with an account can — you don't need an invitation.

  3. 3 · You say what it means

That part is never written by a machine. The record holds evidence; the argument is yours and it stays yours.

  1. Audio

    WisconsinWPR / PBS Wisconsin

How did Crowley win the Democratic primary for governor?

WPR's Capitol bureau chief and the reporters who covered the race, three days after it ended. On the record because it is the fullest account of the primary that exists in someone's own voice, and because a clip of it can be played rather than summarised. Limitation: a same-week analysis by the outlet that covered the race.

  2. Audio

    WisconsinWPR / PBS Wisconsin

What changes when a state race becomes a national one?

Recorded a week before the primary, as national money and coverage arrived. On the record because it is a dated statement of what people expected, which can be checked against what happened. Limitation: recorded before the result, so its expectations are exactly that.

  3. Audio

    WisconsinWPR / PBS Wisconsin

What did the race look like from inside the three weeks that decided it?

Recorded 23 July, during the stretch when Crowley left the race and re-entered. On the record as the contemporaneous account, before anyone knew how it ended. Limitation: reporting in real time about a situation still moving.

  4. Preliminary — not yet certified

    WisconsinDemocratic primary electorate

Who is the Democratic nominee for governor in the first open-seat race since 2010?

On the record because the seat is open — Tony Evers is not seeking a third term — and the margin was narrow enough that Francesca Hong conceded the morning after. Limitation: labelled preliminary here because these are reported results; the nomination is official only once the canvass is certified.

  5. Decided

    Racine CountyMount Pleasant Village Board

Should the village approve site plans for 15 more Microsoft data centres on the former Foxconn site?

Approved unanimously on 26 January 2026, in Tax Increment District 5, at a meeting attended by building-trades members. Twelve miles away, the same company withdrew a proposal in Caledonia. Limitation: a site-plan approval is not the whole permitting picture; energy and water arrangements are decided elsewhere.

  6. Withdrawn

    Racine CountyVillage of Caledonia

Why did a data centre twelve miles from Mount Pleasant not get built?

Microsoft withdrew from the Caledonia site after organised local opposition, including a petition with roughly 2,000 names. Limitation: the account of why is reconstructed from the company statement and from residents; there was no board vote to point at.

  7. Proposed

Racine CountyMicrosoft / Village of Mount Pleasant

What has been built on the former Foxconn site, and what is planned next?

Five months after the approval, the first data centre is finished and further buildings are planned. Limitation: construction milestones here come largely from the company.

How things get on the record

  • No endorsement, no scorecard, no advice on how to vote, no predictions.
  • Every claim carries its document and the date it was retrieved.
  • Preliminary results stay labelled preliminary until a body certifies them.
  • Election dates come from the state authority, never a summary of one.
  • Interpretation is visibly separate from the source.
  • Anyone named can respond, and a response cannot delete the criticism it answers.

A machine may propose an entry; a person publishes it. Takes belong to whoever wrote them, not to Annotated.
